August 22-24, 2008, Fort Collins, Colorado

Guided Tours
Offered on Saturday, August 23, 2008, 2-6pm

Welcome to Fort Collins, located in the rolling foothills beneath Colorado’s majestic Rocky Mountains!

Fit Ventures—Interactive Tours is honored to offer four tours unique to Fort Collins which highlight WATER and its significance to life in the arid west. WATER is the one element which sustains all life as we know it and connects every continent of our “Blue Planet.”

One or more of the “6” senses is interwoven within the design of each tour. Together they showcase Fort Collins as a model community for environmental sustainability, fluidity of thought in literature and the
arts, as well as a playground for outdoor exploration and discovery!

A Poudre River Walk Exploration
Join members of the Poudre Heritage Alliance as we explore Fort Collins’ stretch of the Poudre River on its journey downward from the nearby Rocky Mountains. Special emphasis will be on the preservation of the Cache Le Poudre River as well as the enhancement of its recreational and life-sustaining values.

A Literary Discovery & Discussion of the Poudre River
As recounted in the book, Pulse of the River, local writers showcase fluidity of thought through literature with personal stories and anecdotes underlying their affinity with the Poudre River. This reading takes place indoors at The Poudre River Arts Center, where the Peace Corps Retrospective photography exhibit is also located.

Cavalry on the Poudre
Join dynamic docent, Dr. William W. Doe III of Colorado State University, as we retrace the early military history and geography of the settlement of Fort Collins along the banks of the Poudre River in 1864.

An Exploration of Water Through the “6” Senses
Discover the soothing yet powerful nature of water from the inside out during a relaxing and soulful guided visualization of the 2nd Chakra, the element of water. These sessions will be facilitated by members of Fort Collins Heruka and/or Shambhala communities at an indoor venue.

Tickets can be purchased online beginning June 15, 2008 at www.livefitventures.com.
