Controversial Frank Sharry Talks Reform
Provocative speaker offers his view during “Finding Home” immigration series

Widely recognized as a pro-immigrant authority, Sharry brings his international and national perspective to Fort Collins in an eye-opening presentation addressing the subject of immigration reform. It is a complex topic that warrants discussion, and Sharry will be the first to admit there is no easy answer to our country’s immigration challenges.

Sharry is Founder and Executive Director of America’s Voice, a nonprofit communications organization dedicated to winning common sense immigration reform in our country. Established in 2008, America’s Voice conducts cutting edge public opinion research, undertakes public education and provides comprehensive media analysis on the current state of the immigration debate. Widely recognized as the nation’s “voice of reason” and foremost authority on immigration issues, Sharry is a modern-day immigration reform myth-buster known for his balanced and logical approach to this often controversial topic.

Prior to heading America’s Voice, Sharry served as Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum for 17 years. The Forum, based in Washington D.C., is one of the nation’s premier immigration policy organizations, and has been at the center of every major legislative and policy debate related to immigration for the past quarter of a century.

Before joining the Forum, Sharry was Executive Director of Centro Presente, a local organization working with Central American refugees in the greater Boston area. Sharry initially became interested in immigrants and refugees while teaching in Singapore in the late 1970s, and was hired to assist with the rescue and relocation of boat refugees fleeing war-torn Vietnam and landing in Indonesia. Sharry is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of Princeton University.
